Plane crash on the Esplanade!

In April of 1984, the East High senior class pulled off a senior prank for the history books. The crafty students staged a plane crash in front of the school, featuring the fuselage, wings and propeller of a small plane, dummies covered in organ meats from a local butcher, and even yellow police line tape.

The prank made the front page of the The Denver Post and was featured on a Denver Trivia board game card (see images below).

“I think it’s darling. I think it’s a wonderful treatise against drinking,” pronounced one silver-haired counselor.
